Hi! Nice to meet you.

I'm Xin Ye, a PhD student in Information, advised by Professor Lionel P. Robert Jr..

Before that, I earned my Master of Science degree in Information Science from University of Michigan. I also got my my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Zhejiang University.

During my undergraduate years, I was fortunate to work with Prof. Zaifeng Gao in the field of Engineering Psychology. I was also advised by Prof. Hui Chen in Cognitive Psychology. In the summer of 2020, I worked as a visiting student at the Human Factors lab led by Prof. Jing Feng at North Carolina State University.

Biography

Xin Ye is a Ph.D. student in Information at the University of Michigan. Her research interests include human–robot interaction, user experience design, and human behavior modeling. Her work explores how humans interact and collaborate with security robots, with a focus on understanding the robots' social power. Ultimately, her goal is to design future security robots that better serve the public. Xin’s work has been published in premier conferences and journals, including ACM Transactions on Human-Robot Interaction, the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), the IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (RO-MAN), and the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). Prior to her Ph.D., she earned an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Psychology from Zhejiang University.

Apart from psychology, I love doing yoga 🧘‍♀️ , hanging out with my dogs 🐶, traveling 🌃, cooking 🧑‍🍳, and baking 🍩:)
